It was founded at the beginning of the twentieth century in 1911 by Wiggins Thiel and Joseph Eaton in the United States. Originally called the Torino Manufacturing Company, the company specialized in the production of automotive parts, including gearboxes and clutches.
In 1923, the name was changed to Eaton Axle Company and later Eaton Corporation.

The company has been actively developing and expanding its business areas, and has achieved considerable success in each of them. The main areas of activity were aviation, automotive, and industrial machinery.

In the mid-twentieth century, Eaton Corporation focused on diversification, gradually strengthening its position in the international market as a manufacturer of industrial machinery and hydraulic components.

In the late 70s, the company was actively buying up other manufacturing companies and seeking to maximize its development by expanding its product range.

In 2012, Eaton signed one of the most important deals in its operations, namely the acquisition of Cooper Industries worth USD 13.3 billion. This event was a milestone in the company's life and allowed it to significantly expand its business, particularly in North America, where Cooper had its own network of customers and a high reputation.

Today, Eaton is one of the global corporations with offices in 176 countries. The company employs more than 86,000 people.
